A nationwide online conference was held to assess the progress of election preparations.

On the morning of February 26th, the National Election Council held a nationwide online conference to assess the progress of preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and to discuss key tasks in the final stage that will determine the success of the upcoming election. The conference was chaired by: Tran Thanh Man - Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Election Council; Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council; Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice President, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council; Nguyen Hoa Binh - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council; and Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council.

The conference was broadcast online from the main venue at Tan Trao Meeting Room, National Assembly Building, to 34 provincial-level venues and 3321 commune-level venues.

Attending at the ward-level Conference Center were Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Trang - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Phuoc Binh Ward Party Committee, Head of the Ward Election Steering Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the Phuoc Binh Ward Election Committee; leaders of the Ward Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, members of the Election Committee, Election Board, and Polling Stations in the ward…

The conference heard a summary report on the results of preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; representatives from various agencies gave their opinions on the preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; representatives from localities reported on issues requiring attention, guidance, and clarification (if any) to ensure the success of the election, and also exchanged and answered proposals and recommendations from localities (if any).

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Tran Thanh Man, Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the National Election Council, emphasized the absolute need to avoid complacency and negligence in the work. He stressed the importance of continuing to closely follow and fully implement the requirements of Directive 46 dated May 16, 2025, and the Political Bureau's conclusions on leading the election, most recently Conclusion No. 03 dated February 22, 2026, of the Secretariat; Plan No. 62 dated November 11, 2025, and the guiding documents of the National Election Council. He also requested that voting and vote counting be conducted strictly and objectively; and that election results be announced on time, no later than March 25, 2026, as stipulated by law. "The more rigorously we conduct the process and the earlier we announce the results, the better."

“The success of the election will create an important starting point for building and consolidating the State apparatus for the new term, creating a solid political and social foundation for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party. This is also an opportunity for us to affirm the leadership capacity of the Party, the effectiveness of State management, and the efficiency of the political system.” Recalling the directive of General Secretary To Lam, Comrade Tran Thanh Man - Member of the Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the National Election Council - also expressed confidence that with the high determination in leadership and guidance of Party committees at all levels; the close coordination of agencies and organizations in the political system; and the unanimous and positive response of the entire people, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be a great success.
